The Nine Realms (KIND OF): A Planetary Profile

*I own nothing, all this belongs to Marvel Entertainment. Also, many thanks to the MCU Wiki, which without, I would be positively screwed.
**Written to while listening to Amon Amarth, Sabaton and basically any other metal band I could find.
***Also, this will SOME elements from the non-canon games THOR: GOD OF THUNDER and THOR: THE DARK WORLD (Video Game). Like with the Equestria profile using stuff from the comics, this is just to flesh things out.
Name: Asgard and the Nine Realms (Excluding Alfheim, Niflheim and Midgard)
Status: Nine Eight Seven Fuck it, SIX Realms connected, Varying Biomes, Technologically Advanced/Confused

The Nine Realms are a collection of worlds connected by the cosmic grid known to the Asgardians as Yggdrasil, the world tree, with its 'roots' buried into their home of Asgard. Through some questionable effects it has on the laws of physics, the Nine Realms (Asgard, Midgard-Earth, Jotunheim, Vanaheim, Svartaflheim, Nidavellir, Muspelheim, Alfheim and Niflheim)  have been connected for a very long time. The dominant race of these realms would be the Asgardians, a race similar to humans in many respects but different in key areas (Able to live thousands of years, much stronger and faster and have incredibly advanced technology that borders on magic.... or maybe it is magic- the Asgardians say it is, but that same magic can be explained with science, so...).

I'm getting off topic, I have a point to make here- the Nine Realms have been connected to another for a long time, and for that long time, war has been very common. Whether it be the brawls between Frost Giant and Asgardian, Raiders and Asgardian, the now-extinct(?) Dark Elves and Asgard, the Asgardians have viewed themselves in a very high fashion, seen as the protectors of the Nine Realms- fair enough, as most of the other races with any true strength are a bunch of assholes one way or another.

Anyways, the history of the Nine Realms is a long one, with many of its details more-less portrayed in Norse Mythology (with some exaggerations or falsehoods here or there- case in point, Thor was still a child during the time of Vikings) but let's focus on the known: very recently (to the Asgardians, anyway), Asgard went to war with the Frost Giants of Jotunheim and won- however, Odin, not wanting these hostilities to go ad infinitum, found the child of Laufey, the King of the Frost Giants, left to die in the cold. Out of compassion and seeing this child as a way to unite the Nine Realms in piece, he adopted the child and named him Loki, making him a prince of Asgard.

Aliases (he has a lot):
Loki Odinson,
God of Mischief,
Loki of Asgard,
"Real Power",
Reindeer Games,
Rock of Ages,
Loki of Jotunheim,
The Asgardian Mussolini,
"Cow"
And yes, I know that doesn't look like a Frost Giant- blame Asgardian magitech bullshit.

Anyways, this information became public after Loki was able to manipulate Thor out of Asgard and onto Midgard while he attempted to gain control of the Throne, before getting knocked into the malfunctioning Bifrost and sent Gods know where, stumbling across a strange figure that served an insidious warlord known as Thanos. With that guys assistance, he was able to establish an army of Chitauri and attack Earth, where he was defeated and sent back to Asgard for his crimes, where he remains while the walls of the universe are now getting a bit shaky in an event known as Convergence- the meeting of realms. Due to this, Thor has been sent to Midgard, fearful that his girlfriend has been affected by this (she hasn't yet, she didn't quite make it to the Aether here and was transported back to Earth just as Thor appeared).

Seeing all of this and eager for this opportunity (and wanting to stick to Thor of a different reality for fucking up a previous tournament of his), the Portal Master decided to warp these portals of Convergence a bit. Now the Nine Eight  Seven  SIX (excluding Alfheim and Niflheim as well, because we know fuckall about the first (even with comics), and the second is indistinguishable from Jotunheim) realms are connected to one another through portals, stuck in a solar system that does not truly exist, able to visit one another for better or worse and to gaze out at other worlds suffering similar fates to there own,but not fortunate enough to be connected with one another, and without one of their greatest heroes either, just as two incredibly powerful armies appear as well.

Now the realms shall either rise or fall at the hands of these forces.

===GEOGRAPHY===

Asgard:

Asgard is a small planetary body in an alternate plane of existence that serves as home to the Asgardians, a race of beings recognized on Earth by humans as the deities of their Norse mythology, such as Thor, and their ruler, Odin. It exists in another dimensional plane and is about the size of a small state. It is not round like the Earth, does not spin on its axis, and does not revolve around a star. It is a flat, asteroid-like mass that has a top surface with a gravitational pull, similar to that of the Earth's, in order to keep the citizens and their cities from floating into the void. The matter on Asgard is also denser and more durable than the matter on Earth. There is an unknown force that keeps the surfaces of Asgard from eroding and from allowing its bodies of water from drifting off into space. Asgard has unknown intervals of day and night; it is unclear as to whether it uses a sun as a source of light, and there is no evidence that the seasons change. There are natural nexus portals that exist on Asgard, due to deposits of the wormhole-sensitive crystal-like material used in the construction of the Rainbow Bridge, and these portals are in direct contact with the roots of Yggdrasil, the tree-like cosmic grid that connects the Nine Realms.

Jothunheim:

Jotunheim is the homeworld of the Frost Giants, and is a very, very shite place to live in. Turned frozen by the powers of the Frost Giants (and is now slowly deteriorating without the Cask of Eternal Winter, a Frost Giant artifact taken by the Asgardians), Jotunheim is home to spiraling mountains and cliffsides of ice, and is inhabited by a handful of creatures. And although the planet is rather inhospitable to most, the Frost Giants live in great numbers on this world.

Vanaheim:

A very forested region, with the occasional plain or mountains or jungles and swamps here of there. This land is inhabited by the Vanir, a race related to the Asgardians and with a more distinctly Asian in appearance and have a more 'down to earth' culture, with the Asgardians being they're only effective means of assistance, although the Vanir do seem to have a greater understanding of magic than the Asgardians. Other notable races in Vanaheim would be Mire Giants (Large, almost turtle-like creatures that are indeed sapient and are nice and calm unless provoked), Basilisks (Dinosaur people who act as raiders) and Skraelings (same discussion on Basilisk, but shorter, fatter and act as henchmen to the Basilisk).

Mire Giant
Basilisk
Goblin Skraeling
Svartalfheim:

Once the home of the Dark Elves, Svartalfheim is a planet corroded with Dark Matter from a sun that more resembles a Black Hole than anything else. The world itself is a dead one, with scorched black soil and dry air coating the planet, along with the destroyed remnants of what was once a mighty army of Dark Elves. This is where the final battle between the Dark Elves and Asgardians took place, and where Malekith is currently, mournful at the sight of his dead people.

Nidavellir:

Nidavellir is an incredibly mountainous realm, with the land that isn't mountains/volcanoes being either short, lifeless plains or lava-filled grottoes. Nidavellir is home of the Dwarves, the most intelligent race in the Nine Realms, having made a great majority of the technology utilized by the Asgard, through extensive black-smithing and magic.

Not much else I can say- stereotypical dwarf land, and the Dwarves are Dwarves.

Muspelheim:
"There is no place in this world, where the squalor and cruelty flourish lush as the streets of Muspel. There you can find anything, alive or dead, but often it is more of a middle ground between the two, because where life gets thinner, to a crawl in the sweltering streets filled with bazaars, there is no longer the border between good and evil."
Home to the insidious race of creatures known as Fire Demons (or Bran Demo if you wish to speak Norwegian), Muspelheim is as close as the human mind can get to the stereotypical profile of 'Hell'. Fire and Ash coat the air and earth, with pools and lakes of lava covering the world, with the only occasional mountainous rock face breaking it up, with either small cities/temples built into or on top of these isles, or mines being made into it to harness the metal known as Scarbite- heat incarnate, for all intents and purposes.

Muspelheim is a dangerous land with dangerous people, and should be avoided at all costs unless you wish to have some Scarbite.

===THIRD PARTY FACTIONS===

The Asgardians

Asgard, the kingdom of kingdoms.
The Asgardians are a powerful race, acting as the lawgivers of the Nine Realms and are a highly feared and respected race throughout the galaxy. Able to live for around 5'000 years at the maximum, the Asgardians first truly showed their might against the Dark Elves, destroying the entire civilization in a cataclysmic war that is still remembered to this day. They're culture is an archaic one by human terms, with a still very present Royal Family ruling predominately- with no actual foes in terms of the Asgardian race, as there's no other noble houses or anything of that like.

The Asgardian Army consists of the Einherjar, a massive army (9000, at least) of Asgardian soldiers personally trained in combat by the rulers of Asgard, like Odin or Thor. Although not utilizing energy weapons but instead spears or weapons of a similar nature, they are able to cut through almost any known material, and these soldiers are capable of fighting against trained soldiers with energy weapons on an equal level.

And if these soldiers are seen as inadequate, the Asgard can also mass-produce weapons known as 'Berserker Staffs', a weapon that can send an Asgardian or Human (and, realistically, any sapient species) into a vicious berserker state by fueling them with adrenaline- the only downside is that it brings out the worst in people, emotionally and physically, and is fuelled on a persons negative emotions/memories.

A berserker staff in the hands of a woman you really don't wanna fuck with.
They also have access to energy shields (able to encapsulate buildings), energy weapons (turrets and aircraft mainly) and vehicles that don't need to rely on gravity or friction. They also have a few robots known as Destroyers lying in wait, should the need ever arrive for extreme action (a Destroyer is almost on-par with MCU Thor).

Thank the Gods not many of them exist (in the single digit numbers).
All Asgardians have superhuman strength (to varying degrees, but certainly stronger than a human), incredible durability (you'll need heavy weapons to kill them, although enough bullets will hurt them) and regeneration (no human disease can affect them in any regard) and incredible agility (I'd like to say almost Eldar level, with Dark Elves sticking at that rate of agility).

The Dark Elf Remnants
Athu! pausajamihi rosihi Äskärdhiksel!
The Dark Elves or Svartálfar (less common Älfeneel or Harudheeniksa by the Dark Elves themselves) are one of the oldest known species in the universe, hailing from the obscure realm of Svartalfheim.

The Dark Elves are a proud, ancient race, their history extending centuries before the "Great Beginning" (Big Bang). However, this can be explained by their connection to dark energy and the possibility that their race grew old in a different universe before coming to the Nine Realms, where they reigned absolute. When the other civilizations of the Nine Realms arose, the Dark Elves sought to return the universe to its former state of darkness. It was then that their leader, the sorcerer Malekith, engineered the Aether, a super weapon forged from the substance permeating and surrounding the universe before it came into being.

The Asgardians, led by their then-king Bor, fought a fierce war with the Dark Elves, eventually driving them back to Svartalfheim as Malekith attempted to use the Aether. In that final battle, with the Convergence approaching, the Dark Elves fought with all of their might, utilizing their advanced technology as well as their elite troops, the Kursed, to attempt to halt the Asgardian advance. The Asgardians were able to triumph, however, launching an attack on Malekith and his bodyguards. During the struggle the Aether was lost to Malekith, taken by the Asgardians via the Bifrost. His plans ruined, Malekith launched a final, suicidal attack on the Asgardians, dropping the Dark Elf ships out of the sky in an effort to crush all beneath them.

Malekith himself escaped the battle, along with dozens of his kin and his lieutenant, Algrim, who would later become one of the Kursed himself. The battle caused the utter destruction of the rest of the Dark Elves, leaving those that escaped aboard Malekith's ship as the only survivors.

Five thousand years later, as the Convergence nears again, Malekith has awoken and is attempting to use the Aether again. And, since the Portal Master is feeling in a particularly dickish mood today for the Asgardians, because, again, Thor, he has granted Malekith the opportunity for this and boosted his numbers- not ridiculously as to ensure victory, but more than half a hundred. Now Malekith has over 600 Dark Elf soldiers, and an appropriate number of fighters along with that (98, if you wish to be specific).

The Dark Elves however are still the smallest faction out of all the others, but being the oldest race (predating the Universe itself), Dark Elf technology is very advanced, surpassing even the Asgardians'. They possess massive, black, T-shaped spaceships with red lights that can travel between the Nine Realms. Each ship can carry several smaller, nimbler "Harrow" craft that can function as troop transports or fighters, using their blade-shaped hulls and superior durability to ram enemy ships and fortifications. Their cloaking devices can also render them invisible to any means of locating them, and could even conceal them from the all-seeing eyes of Asgard's guardian, Heimdall. They arealso extremely durable, able to withstand projectiles from Asgardian weaponry to a point, and also able to smash through objects without any noticeable signs of damage. The Dark Elf Harrow craft's engines each contain a small black hole used as a propulsion source; the red glowing aperture at the ship's front allows it to "fall" along the direction of travel at very high speeds.

The Dark Elves also possess plasma energy weapons in a similar vein to the Chitauri, along with swords, bladed gauntlets, shields, and grenades that generate miniature black holes that absorb and crush anything caught in the blast radius before disappearing a few seconds later.

The Dark Elves also seem to be immune to certain physical laws, as Svartalfheim is very different from that of the other Nine Realms, located in a star system that is almost completely corroded with dark matter, and following slightly different physical laws, with a slightly different table of elements; and, once "Kursed", the Dark Elves are some of the most formidable beings in existence. The Kursed themselves proved nigh-indestructible when battling the Asgardians, and proved so strong as to punch right through force fields, destroy Asgard's shield mechanisms, and knock Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, right out of the air in mid-flight into a rock face, a feat no other being in the universe could have accomplished.

They were once beautiful race, as can be evidenced by their masks, but the universe of light and matter is poisonous to them and corroded their appearance to a more monstrous one. Their masks maintain their life force, shielding them from the poisonous effects of the existing universe. Their masks also show evidence of enlarged eyes, possibly adapted for seeing in the darkness.

Frost Giants
Den kalde har kom med raseri
The Frost Giants, or 'Jotuns' are a broken race, with the death of their king, Laufey. Now living in sporadic clans across Jotunheim and Niflheim, with nothing at the moment able to unite them.

Frost Giants stand at least 10 feet tall in height, they are a race made for cold weather, finding it much more comfortable for them and also seem to forgo the use of armor, their hard hide more than capable of making up for that, although should the need arise they can create armor or weapons of ice on their bodies by manipulating the moisture in the air or on their bodies, and can use this natural cold fiercely in combat (case in point, encasing your lower arm in a giant spear of ice), by putting their foes through an excruciating form of frostbite, blackening the skin and 'burn' them so long as they have contact.

Frost Giants possess superhumanly dense skin, muscle, and bone tissue, giving them a high level of durability and strength, and a significant resistance to injury. The forces delivered by Earthly weapons (i.e. guns and arrows) are too weak to damage Frost Giants, but given enough force Earthly materials can damage them.

Marauders
The Marauders are scavengers first, warriors last. They will loot all they can before taking that which must be fought for.
With the destruction of the Bifrost, the Asgardians struggled for a time to find ways of upholding peace amongst the Realms. In these times of chaos and disorder, all kinds of misfits and rouges from across the galaxy became entranced with this opportunity and attacked the Nine Realms- well, Vanaheim the most, as anywhere else would be practical to suicide.

The Marauders have no set uniform or organization and are highly fractured amongst each other. They typically use combat as a last resort, and only if they find something of great value- so essentially, anything in the Old Temples of Vanaheim. The Marauders use swords, spears, axes, guns, and missile or harpoon launchers in combat- nothing energy based.

Fire Demons
Brenn gjør demonene i døden
Behold, the species that everyone avoids with a 20-foot stick. Living in the hellish realm of Muspelheim, the Fire Demons are a pseudo-supernatural species of creatures, and are viciously cruel. Thankfully for the Nine Realms, they are content with staying in Muspelheim and doing terrible things there as opposed to all of the Nine Realms.

Fire Demons are creatures of powerful magic and can combine themselves to make even larger Fire Demons.

Thankfully, for all these terrifying things, they don't have a grasp on technology beyond blacksmithing of iron or scarbite and building materials- a small mercy, all things considered.

  ===IMPORTANT INDIVIDUALS===

King Odin Borson, The Allfather

"I have sacrificed much to achieve peace. So, too, must a new generation sacrifice to maintain that peace. Responsibility, duty, honor. These are not merely virtues to which we must aspire. They are essential to every soldier and to every King."
Leader of the Asgardians, Odin is a God amongst Gods. The current, although soon to be replaced, King of Asgard, is a dangerous and powerful man. Odin was born as the son of Bor, King of Asgard. He had several brothers, but they all died during the many wars the Asgardians had to fight to keep the Nine Realms safe. When Bor also died in battle, Odin took the throne of Asgard, continuing with his father's policy, ushering in a period of strife and eventual stability that Odin would later refer to as the "Great Beginning" during his son's coronation.

As Allfather, Odin had battled great beasts, invaded foreign realms, destroyed demons and monsters, devastated whole worlds, and laid waste to mighty kingdoms. Eventually, with all his power, he needed a period of time that he could rest and regain his strength. This deep sleep became known as the Odinsleep.

For thousands of years Odin successfully led his kingdom, but when he felt that the burden of wearing the crown was too much for him alone, he married Frigga, because she was a strong partner and had a helpful ear. With the birth of their son, Thor, Odin felt that one day he would be able to pass his crown to a worthy successor. In 965, Odin led his Asgardian army against Laufey and his horde of Frost Giants to defend Midgard in the Asgard-Jotunheim War. Odin lost his eye on Midgard, but the Asgardians were victorious. After the battle, Odin took the Casket of Ancient Winters from one of Laufey's temples, Odin also discovered a baby Frost Giant, Loki, who was the son of Laufey. Loki was left to die because of his small stature for a Frost Giant. Odin and his wife, Frigga, already had a son, Thor, but they adopted Loki as Thor's brother and kept the truth of Loki's birth from both of them.

Odin raised both Thor and Loki as brothers, attempting to never allow Loki to feel any different from his brother. He taught them about the responsibilities of being king of Asgard, the history of the Asgard's great wars and other lessons if they were ever to take the throne. Odin answered their questions happily and showed them both great love and care. Loki showed Odin many times that he would be a capable king; however Odin had long since decided that Thor would be his heir, though he still told Loki he had what it took to become king.

Many years later, Odin decided that it was time for him to retire as King of Asgard and make Thor King in his place. In the Great Hall, Odin was about to crown Thor as king when Frost Giants intruded in an attempt to retrieve the Casket of Ancient Winters. Odin released the Destroyer and it quickly subdued the Frost Giants. Odin, Thor and Loki travelled to Odin's Vault and found the remains of the Frost Giants and the Asgardian Guards. Thor, angered at the senseless loss of life, demanded that Odin travel to Jotunheim to retaliate for the attack. Odin however insisted that the peace with Laufey was still in effect and the attack was not an act of war but an act of a few Frost Giant rebels doomed to fail. Seeing Thor's rage and war-hungry ways, Odin choose not to name him King yet, fearing he would cause another war with Jotunheim- which he nearly did, when Thor, Loki, Sif and the Warrior Three traveled to Jotunheim and tried to kill Laufey.

Odin eventually showed up on Sleipnir (considering the mythological origins of that beast, I'm now looking at Loki with a somewhat disturbed eye) to try and restore the peace- which failed miserably. Angered at this, he stripped Thor of his powers and banished him to Midgard, and later told Loki the truth of his origins.

Loki didn't take this well, and Odin fell into the Odinsleep because- well, all this shit really took the power out of him and he really needed a fucking nap. Loki eventually took the ownership of king, and woke up when Loki and Thor were fighting and nearly fell off the Rainbow Bridge and into Yggdrassil- Loki fell, went emo, met Thanos and The Other, lead a Chitauri invasion, all that stuff.

Only recently has Odin had any relief, with the state of the nine realms finally at peace- and now the Portal Master has ruined that for him, too!

Odin has superhuman strength comparable, if not a little bit above, that of Thor or Loki (he hits the gyms everything Wednesday), an incredibly durable body (Odin's body is capable of withstanding great impact forces, exposure to temperature and pressure extremes, falls from great heights, and powerful energy blasts from cosmic level beings without sustaining injury; however, to what extent is unknown.), superhuman stamina (could be at peak performance for years before exertion wears in),
a regenerative capability that is a bit iffy (age has made it weak) and the Odin Force. With this, Odin is capable of feats such as reading minds from across even planets, as he was about to crown Thor king before he notices that Frost Giants were in his vault, or projecting force blasts through Gungnir that enabled him to destroy hordes of Frost Giants. Odin is highly skilled in the use of his powers during combat situations, and was able to casually take down and kill Frost Giants with ease during the war. Odin's full power is thus considered at the least equal to that most every other "deity of Earth" (if they exist, which could be more than likely). Odin is also capable of placing multiple permanent enchantments on items, as he did for Mjølnir when he exiled Thor to Earth. He had to tapped into some form of dark energy to send Thor to Earth to stop Loki, although, it seems to frowned upon to used. Couple this with centuries of combat experience in both combat and tactics, and you have a mighty leader indeed.

Oh, he also has two crows that fly around Asgard and report everything to him.

Good luck to anyone that even thinks of killing him.

Loki Laufeyson, The Traitor
"Are you mad!?"
"Probably."
Loki is overrated nope, shouldn't say that, Tumblr will skin me alive... Let me reiterate that! Loki is a vicious son of a Bitch Frost Giant, that, as earlier said, was raised by Odin when he was found left for dead by Laufey. Odin, wanting to make peace, raised the young Jotun as his adopted son, with Asgardian magitech bullsit making him technically an Asgardian.

He didn't really do this well, since he made it clear at a young age that Loki is not going to become King, with that privilege going to Thor, leading to Loki gaining a Napoleon complex of a sorts- although his mother, Friggia, who was much closer bonded to the boy, took interest in him and was able to teach him in the arts of sorcery until he was nearly a master in the art. However, Loki's jealousy of Thor and eagerness to win Odin's appreciation slowly altered Loki's personality for the worse. Where he was once aloof and carefree, Loki slowly became ambitious, going to great lengths to achieve greatness without any thought or care on the consequence

And deep! Within my mind, my revenge grew ever corrosive!

Loki was present when Thor was supposed to ascend the throne. Before the ceremony Loki and Thor joked together, Loki turned a glass of wine into snakes to show off his powers. Loki and Thor laughed about each other's armor, with Thor saying is brother was incapable of a sincere compliment. Loki said that while he was sometimes envious of Thor's place as first-born, there was no doubt that he loved him dearly. When Thor asked how he looked, Loki answered "Like a king". The ceremony was interrupted by Frost Giants that broke into Asgard and attempted to steal the Casket of Ancient Winters. Odin called the Destroyer which killed the invading Frost Giants.

Guess who invited the Frost Giants?

Loki, Thor and Odin made their way to Odin's vault to investigate, when they arrived they found the bodies of the Frost Giants and the Asgardian Guards who had been murdered. Enraged, Thor demanded Odin march into Jotunheim and attack the Front Giants in retaliation. Odin refused, much to Thor annoyance, Thor argued that as king of Asgard he should be able to decide these matters but Odin told him he was not yet king, as he had not been yet crowned. Loki stayed silent during the argument, simply listening and working out his own plan.

Afterwards Thor unleashed his rage by throwing over a dinner table, Loki spoke to him and was able to manipulate him so he disobeyed their father's orders and attacked Jotunhiem. Loki followed the enraged Thor, along with Lady Sif and the Warriors Three, to Jotunheim to seek answers, before they left Loki told a guard of their intention and ordered him to inform Odin. They went to Heimdall, keeper of the Bifrost Bridge, Loki confidently tried to confuse Heimdall, but the gatekeeper was already well aware of their intentions, but still gave them safe passage to Jotunheim; the others mocked Loki afterwards.

And we all know what happened in Jotunheim, with shit hitting fan at terminal velocity, spiraling Jotunheim and Asgard into a state of war and Thor was subsequently banished, and with Loki eventually discovering he was a Frost Giant and, due to this, never inherit the Throne. Period.

He becomes King Regent, nearly destroys Asgard and let the Frost Giants wins, manipulate Thor into thinking Odin is dead, sends the Destroyer after Thor, Loki falls into Yggdrassil, we all know the details- Loki's life sucked.

Especially when he begged- no, pleaded for his life when he was gripping onto the Rainbow Bridge, begging Odin for him to lfit him up.

Odin's reply?

Well actually, he just said 'No' and left Loki seemingly die, but you get the point- not a fuck was given. However, despite what many thought, Loki wasn't dead, but instead transported to the outer fringes of the universe- Chitauri Space, where he encountered Thanos. Offered the power to rule Earth and get back at the Asgardians and his false fathers, Loki eagerly accepted, transporting to Earth with a new grasp on mind control and a Scepter- ironically, containing The Mind Stone.

You'd think for a purple-faced megalomaniac wanting to rule the universe via the infinity stones he'd be less willing to offer one up to some random Frost Giant, but meh, whatever. An astral projection of Friggia met Loki shortly before he goes to Earth, begging to speak to him. Loki replied with 'it's not time to talk', and officially went to Earth, where he assisted HYDRA in fucking over SHIELD, helped make the Avengers, stabbed Agent Coulson through the chest (who than went on a fantastic vacation to Tahiti), and we saw the moment that Joss Whedon went on record on saying is his favorite anything in cinema:

Now Loki is stuck in prison, with only Friggia giving a fuck about his life- and Malekith is going to kill her and send Odin into a frothing rage, along with Loki, and now you see why I haven't talked about her in the important individuals.

Oddly fitting for the guy, no?

Loki has under his power superhuman strength (he can casually defeat Frost Giants and overpower CAPTAIN AMERICA), Superhuman speed (can catch arrows midair), superhuman durability (survived a Smashing from the Hulk) and an immunity to the Cold, and- via magic - can create Illusions of himself or disguise himself as others, mind control others, can teleport, render himself invisible to certain people and under certain circumstances can generate a telekinetic field of green magic with concussive/EMP capabilities (this happened afte rhe learned of Friggia's death, so it's only when he's angry will this happen). He has a grand knowledge of the Arcane and how to utilize it,
highly intelligent, a master of manipulation and expert combatant (see: could handle his own against Captain America).

Heimdall, The Guardian

The Guardian of Asgard, Heimdall holds the most powerful sense of all living things- almost omniscient, Heimdall is capable of seeing almost every living thing in a given realm, so long as it is not obscured in some fashion (and I don't mean hiding in a building, I mean so long as cloaking technology or magic isn't fucking around).
And when I say he sees all, I mean he sees all.
Heimdall will do anything to vanguard the protection of Asgard, and is a warrior on par with Thor, with strength and  durability comparable to him. The only things his sight cannot see are anything cloaked or when magic is fucking around. Besides that though, he'll see something coming. Also, like all Asgardians, he has superhuman strength, durability, agility, etc, and a sword that can not only power the Bifrost but also cut straight through starship hulls.

Malekith
rouhaslju passajamanasos geilihi?
Malekith was the cruel leader of the Dark Elves, a race of beings said to be older than the universe itself. Born into darkness, Malekith led his people in a war against the Asgardians, but they were thought to have been destroyed thousands of years ago in the climatic war between the Dark Elves and Asgardians, with the Dark Elves presumed to be pushed into extinction when their entire fleet self-destructed and crashed onto the dueling armies- a last bid gambit by Malekith as he and a select few secretly fled from the carnage in a ship.

He and his select few laid in stasis for thousands of years, awaiting for Aether to return and reveal itself- and now, during convergence, it has. Vengeful to the Asgardians for forcing his race into near extinction, Malekith is leading the few remaining soldiers (fanatically loyal, at that) he has on an all-out strike to regain the powerful Infinity Stone.

Malekith, like all Dark Elves, possesses Superhuman Strength that can easily overpower the average Asgardian Einherjar (coupled with Malekith's incredible combat skills, capable of killing three of them at once only armed with a dagger), superhuman durability (he survived a blast from Mjolnir's lightning to the face and was able to partially regenerate, although the skin would still be charred) and is one of the few beings in the universe that can actually wield an Infinity Stone without dying or being vaporized. Malekith is a master strategist and was able to cripple Asgard itself with only a pair of ships and a few dozen soldiers, while Kurze (one of the Kurzed, derp), allowing himself to be captured specifically for this, started a mass riot in the prison of Asgard, with Marauders running amok.

If he gains his hands on the Aether, he will be a terrifyingly powerful foe, capable of going toe-to-toe with Thor himself (in other words, at that point Eldrad or similarly powered individuals would need to be called down to deal with this fuck).

Lady Sif, "Xena"

During her early years, Sif's great talents as a warrior were not appreciated by many because she was a woman. Thanks to her friend Thor, who believed in her capabilities, Sif became one of the most appreciated warriors of Asgard, along with the Warriors Three, Loki, and Thor himself! When the Frost Giants of Jotunheim interrupted Thor's coronation ceremony by attempting to steal the Casket of Ancient Winters, the cornation was cancelled, much to Thor's anger. Sif and the Warriors found Thor throwing tables in the air in rage. They arrived just when Loki was trying to calm his brother down, Thor was adamant that the Frost Giants should be punished for the attack, he went to each of his friends individually to tell them why they should follow him. When Thor came to Sif he asked her who had proved wrong all those who had stood in her way when she planned to be the fiercest warrior in all of Asgard, but Sif insisted that she did it alone, which Thor did not argue with.

Cue the Jotunheim Bullshit, which she was involved in, and subsequent banishment of Thor (she was not involved in that).

After Thor's banishment the Warriors Three gathered together, along with Loki. While Fandral and Volstagg recovered from their injuries, they discussed the events on Jotunheim, questioning how Odin could how learned of their activities. Loki revealed that he had informed Odin of their attack on Jotunheim. Sif tried to convince Loki to speak to Odin but Loki refused, claiming Thor was too foolish to be their king. After Loki left the room, Hogan told the group that he believed Loki was responsible for the original attack on Asgard.

Cue the Loki learns the truth, Odin going "Fuck this!" and taking a nap.

Some days later, Sif persuaded the Warriors Three to ask Odin to recall Thor back home, but when they arrived in the throne room, they found Loki sitting as the new ruler of Asgard, as a substitute to Odin, who had fallen into the Odinsleep. Loki denied their request to call his stepbrother back, but they decided to ignore his order and to go to Earth anyway.

After this denial the team's relationship became more and more strained, leading to an argument between Fandral and Volstagg, which Sif broke up. When everything calmed down, they agreed that they must go to Midgard to retrieve Thor and bring him back to Asgard to oppose Loki's rule. Before they for enact their plan their plan they were called for a meeting with the all-seeing Heimdall, Volstagg summed up their feelings by simply saying "We're doomed".

They weren't, went to Earth, met Thor, hijinks sadly did not ensue and the Destroyer fucked shit up before Thor regained his powers and kicked its ass, with Sif later making a big celebration to celebrate Odin;s return to consciousness.

Being the best female warrior in Asgard, Sif is very proud and always eager to prove herself. She is a very close friend of Thor and the Warriors Three, and is an honorable warrior on the battlefield. She often is independent and uneasy in following the orders. She has a surprisingly accurate knowledge of some advanced human technology and, unlike most other Asgardians, does not view mortals as lesser beings. Sif also harbors romantic feelings for Thor, being protective of him, jealous of his love for Jane Foster and showing a willingness to aid him even if it means treason. Despite her desire for Thor, she was ready to help in his mission to save Jane, showing a great level of selflessness and honor.

Sif is a capable warrior, with all the abilities one would expect from an Asgardian (although her strength is terrifying powerful- she can kick an RV 40 feet!) and has one of the best regenerative capabilities of Asgardians- not able to generate limbs or organs, but certainly anything else, and is a master combatant, capable of overwhelming Thor- and there are entire graves of people of people who've underestimated her combat skills. She's also well-versed in several alien languages.

So yeah- don't fuck with her.

Fandral
Nothing personal, boys!
Fandral, the other member of the Warriors Three (and in my headcanon, former Einherjar Captain), was also an Asgardian adventurer that made good friends with Prince Thor, eventually meeting Volstagg, Sif and Sir Not Appearing In This Profile Hogun to form the Warriors Three. They assisted in Thor's attack on Jotunheim and, worried that Loki was full of s**t on the 'King Regent' thing, went to Earth to help Thor, battling against the Destroyer in the process (they were no match), and so far in the plot, that's been that.

Fandral has all the powers associated with an Asgardian and is a master swordsman, like some kind of Robin Hood-Zorro, and is one of the most agile Asgardians in the known realms, capable of evading multiple attacks from multiple people at once. He is loyal to his friends and fearful for his enemies, but he is extremely polite, even on the battlefield. Although he is often irritated by Volstagg's endless appetite, he would give his life for his teammates. Fandral is also exceptionally handsome and charming, giving him a great deal of success in dealing with women (So, now he's became Kirk). He is an incredibly skilled swordsman with centuries of experience in hand-to-hand combat and swordsmanship, his weapon of choice being a foil.

Volstagg, the Valiant
Do not mistake my appetite for apathy!
Volstagg is a seasoned Asgardian adventurer and a good friend of the Asgardian prince, Thor. Thor eventually got Volstagg to meet his other two friends, Hogun and Fandral. The three became good friends and formed the Warriors Three.

Volstagg attended the ceremony of Thor's coronation to support his friend, along with most of Asgard's citizens. During the ceremony, two Frost Giants broke into Odin's Vault to steal the Casket of Ancient Winters. Luckily they are stopped by The Destroyer. When Thor became enraged by the interruption, Volstagg was the first of Thor's friends who readily agreed to accompany him to Jotunheim to exact retribution for the Jotuns', and go to Earth and (reiterates all that was said in the Fandral profile). He is renowned for his appetite (So, he's Obelix from the Asterix comics) and joy for fighting, bringing heavy armor and a mighty battleaxe into battle. Out of all the Asgardians, he's the most Viking of them.

Surtur

Lord of the Fire Demons, Surtur is a massive monstrosity of fire, easily standing 20 feet. He holds a grudge against the Asgardians for stealing the Eternal Flame from Muspelheim some odd centuries ago, leading to a tense relationship between the two realms, that Surtur has done little to improve- or change, as he doesn't have the forces nor knowledge to truly invade Asgard, unless someone (Loki) offered assistance.

Regardless, Surtur is a monster of a King, only barely on-par with Thor. Also, Surtur has the greatest amount of Scarbite in all the known realms via his sword, Twilight, a weapon easily on par with Odin's spear, Gungnir.

Danger Status: 4/5: None of the factions in the tournament will have an especially hard time here without Thor to ruin/help things, but it is still with its threats, big and small. These are worlds of Gods, King and Monsters- and few shall escape their wrath.

So, we have the Space (Tesseract) and Reality (Aether) Stones in Asgard, along with the Infinity Gauntlet (with fake stones in place). So, who else is ready to panic?
I foresee a shitton of Chitauri
or straight-up Ronan
attacking Asgard the second it's back in normal reality.

  1. You know, I love that the Planetary conquest tournament doesn't have to take place on only planets. I love you for thinking outside the Box on this one.

And furthermore, thanks for making me want to watch the Thor movies. I haven't actually done that even though I've been meaning to.

The humour was a little toned down but in this case it worked out in your favour. That's not to say I didn't love your jokes when they came in. You got the balance right.
